The Kantian moral principle is not so very different from that of Leibniz and Wolff [the principle of perfection]. Its application is attended with greater difficulties, however; and it can only be maintained at all by the admission of all sorts of contradictions and fallacious inferences. Wolff had fully recognized the difference between morality and legality. In the Preface, Schwab charges the Kantian philosophy with an unphilosophic, revolutionary tendency.
